BLK VA is operated by 1st Priority Management LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Richmond, Virginia company. This Privacy Policy covers the BLK VA business directory at blackva.org (the "Service"), which connects customers in Central Virginia with Black-owned businesses. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices — including how our text-message (SMS) program works.
Information we collect
- Business listing information — business name, category, address/service area, phone, email, website, description, hours, menu or services, and photos, provided by the business or compiled from public directories.
- Customer information — when a customer places an order or request, the name, phone, and details they provide so the business can fulfill it.
- Account information — for businesses that create a login, an email and a securely hashed password.
- Usage information — pages viewed, listings opened, and order/booking activity, used to show businesses how their listing performs.
How we use information
- To operate the directory and connect customers with businesses.
- To deliver orders, bookings, and messages to the relevant business.
- To send businesses account notifications and order alerts by SMS and email (see below).
- To show businesses performance insights about their own listing.
SMS / text messaging
With a business's consent, BLK VA sends SMS text messages to the mobile number on the business's listing. These are:
- Order & booking alerts — notice that a customer has placed an order, booking, or request, with a link to view and respond.
- Account notifications — listing status, your private management link, and billing notices.
Message frequency varies based on customer activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or email us for support. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe; you will receive a final confirmation and no further messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties. We do not sell your information.
How information is shared
- Between customer and business. Order and message details are shared with the specific business the customer chose to contact.
- Service providers. We use vendors (such as hosting and our SMS carrier) solely to operate the Service; they may process data only on our behalf.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share mobile opt-in data for marketing.
Your choices
- SMS opt-out: reply STOP to any text.
- Listing changes or removal: contact us using the details below.
